Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend! We had a bunch of family over for brunch on Saturday and a lot of good food was consumed. I played quite a few rounds of UNO Extreme with my little cousins and am officially UNOed out for now. How was your weekend?
Last week I discovered my new obsession, smoothies! (I’ve been having at least two a day!) My mom and I picked up a big bag of fresh spinach today and I plan on making a lot of green monsters this week. :)
I’ve been experimenting around with smoothie recipes and came up with the PB & Jelly smoothie this weekend. One word, delicious!
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen raspberries
1/3 cup of plain Greek yogurt
2 table spoons of peanut flour
A few ice cubes
1/3 cup of water or milk (give or take, depending on how good your blender is)
Instructions:
Put everything in your blender and blend together until it has a smooth consistency. If you don’t want it to be so thick, just add some more water or milk.
Did you know that Coca-Cola can strip the paint off a car and that Koolaid can dye your hair? So why have a drink filled with empty calories, has no nutrients and that is harming your body, when you can have a smoothie filled with super foods instead?
Do you have a favorite card or board game? What are your favorite things to put into a smoothie?
Smoothies are the best! I love putting baked sweet potato and sunflower seed butter in a smoothie, it tastes amazing! Pumpkin too! :)
ReplyDeleteThat fact about kool aid and coke is so wrong, why do people continue to drink that crap?!?
I need to eat more smoothies! Looks great :)
ReplyDeleteBest thing about your new smoothie? The colour! I wish I had peanut flour to make it! x
ReplyDeleteYou should top your smoothies with raw oats and granola!
ReplyDeletei haven't gotten into smoothies myself. i always think, 'i want to eat my food, not drink it'. but, after your rave review here maybe i should give them another go!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite game is Trivial Pursuit and I'm told I'm pretty good at it (head full of useless info!!) I knew about the coke stripping your car but hadn't heard about KoolAid. Yikes! I keep saying I'm going to try a smoothie, but I don't. I even froze bananas and still haven't done it!
ReplyDeleteI love Trivial Pursuit and Life! I've never been a smoothie fan though, only on hot days...especially not now in the cold! Your smoothie sounds delicious though- I love anything that has to do with PB&J!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite game would probably have to be apples to apples.. or spoons! When my family all gets together we can get pretty violent with that one, lol. I also loooove smoothies! My favorite things to put in them are mango and pineapple!
ReplyDeleteYum! That smoothie looks so good and it's in my favorite colour!!! :D
ReplyDeleteNever thought of using peanut flour in smoothies before!!
I was overly obsessed with smoothies in the summer! I think I burned out a bit lol but I do miss them. I'm just out of protein powder! This looks good though :)
ReplyDeleteYum! I neeeeed to try PB flour! :P
ReplyDeleteYUM! I love smoothies as well! :)
ReplyDeleteHow refreshing! I love smoothies!
ReplyDeleteMmmm that smoothie looks delish! My favorite smoothie is almond milk, frozen banana, spinach, a date, cinnamon, and peanut butter.
ReplyDeleteYUM! What an awesome new obsession. :) And I love that hot pink color.
ReplyDeletemmm smoothies are so good because there are so many combinations! i like putting protein powder and ground flax seed into my smoothie :) you can't even taste that their there!
ReplyDeleteGreen monsters are the best!!! I love how clean and healthy they make you feel after drinking them. I just got on the gm train last week, best decision ever! Can't want to see all the combos you come up with :)
ReplyDeleteThat smoothie looks delicious - I'm a huge fan as you probably know!
ReplyDeleteI love Uno - it's great to play with family. We played it constantly for a week when I was on holiday with my family a couple of years ago.
I neither like board games or smoothies! I exaggerate. I like smoothies from time to time but prefer to eat the ingredients as food rather than fluid. Having said that, I LOVE the colour of your smoothie and the fact that you use greek yogurt in it! As for board games...I find them boring! I love Trivial Pursuit though!
ReplyDeleteI was sooo obsessed with smoothies during the summer :) But now that it's cold.. not as desirable! Love the color on yours though
ReplyDeleteHaha I totally love UNO! Definitely the best childhood card game bar none. I love my green smoothies - I usually start with spinach and/or kale, a frozen banana and then whatever other fruit I have lying around plus add-ins like shelled hemp and ground flaxseed. Last week I made one with mangoes, bananas, frozen strawberries and coconut milk and it was delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love smoothies. I do not enjoy them as much as I would like to. My favorite thing to put into a smoothie would be frozen cherries. I love frozen cherries :)
ReplyDeletePretty scary facts about Koolaid and Coke. Gross!
ReplyDeleteI like smoothies, but it is a bit too cold here to enjoy them at the moment :)
I am all about spinach smoothies. In fact, I made my own PB&J smoothie (but green) a couple of weeks ago for WIAW. Delish and much healthier than what I ate as a child. :)
ReplyDeleteMy absolute fave smoothie (usually post-run) is almond milk, spinach, chocolate protein powder, frozen banana, and frozen berries. Y-U-M!
ReplyDeleteYay! I looove smoothies. I've been making mine with kale lately and they're so yummy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good weekend!
yummy I have at least one smoothie each day! I haven't tried making a green monster just yet. I like frozen berries best :)
ReplyDeleteUno that's my fave game to play with friends.
That sounds delicious! I usually do spinach, protein powder (chocolate), a frozen banana and some frozen straweberries in my smoothies! And my favorite card/board game? Hmmm... Clue!
ReplyDeleteMmm that sounds absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love smoothies, I haven't had one in ages but now I really want one.
The colour of that smoothie is amazing :-)
It's waaaay too cold here for smoothies at the moment, though that doesn't really stop me. I just don't have them quite as often. I love the idea of a PB and J Smoothie!
ReplyDeletei LOVE putting spinach in smoothies! my favorite combo is probably banana, vanilla protein powder, spinach, almond milk, a crapton of cocoa powder, and a few cubes of ice. it's like a healthy chocolate milkshake! heaven :)
ReplyDeleteomg that smoothie looks so fun! like bubblegum!! I love putting peanut flour/banana/greek yogurt in with some cinnamon vanilla...aaand I'm obsessed with matcha green tea too! :-D
ReplyDeleteThat smoothie looks so yummy. Anything with peanut flour has my heart though!
