Yesterday, in my WIAW post, I included a picture of a recent breakfast: whole grain, protein powder-less protein pancakes. A lot of you were interested in the recipe, so that’s what I’m going to share with you today.
No protein powder? No problem!
Whole Grain, Protein Powder-less Protein Pancakes (Makes 1 Serving)
- 2 egg whites
- 3 tablespoons whole grain flour
- 3 tablespoons quick oats
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons water or skim milk
- Cinnamon (optional)
1.) Preheat your stovetop to medium heat and spray a pan with non-stick spray. If you don’t have non-stick spray, put some olive oil in your pan.
2.) Put all the ingredients into a small bowl and mix well.
3.) Use a large spoon to put some of the pancake batter into your pan. You could also add all the batter at once, if you want one big pancake.
4.) Once the side that’s facing up starts bubbling a little bit, flip the pancake to the other side with a spatula.
5.) Repeat stages 3 and 4 until there is no pancake batter left. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

The other day I received an e-mail from the outreach director over at Everyday Health. I’m very familiar with the website and think they have some pretty great advice. They sent me some links to a series they thought would interest me. I enjoyed reading them and wanted to share them with you!
Right now I am completely out of protein powder (ahh, the horror!) so I really need to go out and buy some more, or make an iHerb order soon. Any protein powder suggestions?
Are you a protein powder fan? Do you use protein powder often? Who's excited for the weekend?
