It’s been a long time since I’ve joined WIAW. Since school was starting up, I was so busy and my number one choice was something healthy but quick. I didn’t always have time to take pictures, but did manage to tweet a few to my Twitter account. :)
I stayed home from school today because I’ve had a headache since Monday. Please keep in mind that some days I eat more, some days I eat less. I listen to my body and give it what it needs. I don’t eat the same thing everyday. This is just what I ate today, Wednesday August 22nd.
Breakfast – 9:45 am
I didn’t sleep well but ended staying in bed for a while. After talking to my mom and cuddling with Eva for a bit, I had breakfast.
I had two pieces of protein bread from Aldi, toasted and topped with butter, crunchy PB and honey. On the side I had a big Pink Lady apple, a bowl of yogurt with honey and frozen blueberries.
Snack #1 – 12:10 pm
My breakfast did a really good job of holding me over for a while.
Before making lunch I had an orange juice popsicle. I know it’s not much, but I honestly wasn’t really that hungry. I just wanted something cold.. so something cold it was. :)
Lunch – 1:10 pm
I decided to make lunch for my mom and brothers today. My dad was at work so he’ll probably have some tonight.
I made whole grain spaghetti, chicken strips and peas. I topped it all off with tomato sauce and cheese. (I know it looks like there's no pasta.. I promise you there is!)
Snack #2 – 3:30 pm
As an afternoon snack I had a bowl of yogurt with honey and Lizi’s Granola (Pink Apple & Cinnamon flavor), plus a small bowl of walnuts and cashews. I also had two vitamins. The granola is awesome.. my mom loves it too!
Dinner – 7 pm
After spending almost my whole afternoon working on some blog stuff, I got hungry and made some dinner.
Dinner today was a sandwich (two pieces of protein bread from Aldi, butter, one hardboiled egg, cheese and deli meat) and a side of a sliced banana with cinnamon and PB.
Dessert / Night Time Snack – 7:30 pm
I always have to have some sort of sweet treat after dinner.
I had some dark chocolate, white chocolate and milk chocolate. It might now look like much, but it did a great job of calming my sweet tooth.
I drank a lot of water and iced tea today. Looking back on my eats.. I’m pretty happy with them. I listened to my body and feel great!

That looks like a great day!! I like a bit of dark chocolate after dinner too. :) I also like how you eat your main meal at lunch and not dinner.

I eat at least 4-5 meals - breakfast, snack, lunch (snack), dinner - but sometimes it's even more or less - just depends on how hungry I am :D

Great eats! You always have such colorful, nutritious meals :) I think I'll have to teleport out there to have a picnic with ya! It's awesome you're listening to your body and really eating intuitively!

DeleteYour eats look delicious, I hope you're feeling better! My favorite type of meal is breakfast, but I often eat it for lunch, too - making breakfast or lunch my favorite! Lately, I've been eating 4 meals most days and it's been working well. I always end my night on a sweet note, too! I hope you're feeling better!

I eat many meals a day. My favorite is breakfast. It's totally acceptable for it to taste like dessert! :)

DeleteI love the way you eat. It reminds me exactly of how I would eat when I was younger (minus the chicken - I'd have eaten Quorn) after I cleaned up my bad habits but before I was completely screwed up and actually enjoyed food. If I saw a compilation of your meals I'd be able to identify them with 'you' instantly whereas a lot of blogs tend to become quite generic and all eat the same 'safe' things.

everything looks balanced and delicious! and the fact that you just went with what you wanted, didn’t plan any of it beforehand too too much, that’s awesome. you’ve really come a long way in just the past year! I have to end my night with something sweet too and it’s always different. last night it was a container of strawberry greek yogurt, plus two nature valley granola bars (well, one package) spread with peanut butter. and lots of tea and coffee and water through the day of course !

Yogurt is also one of my favorite night time snacks. But, of course I always have to have some chocolate so I add some chocolate chips. :D

DeleteI love the idea of the orange juice popsicle! I used to make orange juice ice cubes when I was in elementary school and LOVED them. I might just have to start making the popsicle version!
